- Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water; never use petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners or strong detergents as they can degrade the shell and paint finish.
- Clean the visor with a clean, damp microfibre cloth — avoid dry wiping, which can introduce fine scratches that impair visibility.
- If the interior liner is removable, hand-wash it in cool water with mild soap and allow it to air-dry completely before refitting; never machine-wash or tumble-dry.
- Check the chin strap and retention hardware regularly for fraying, corrosion or looseness; retire the helmet if the fastening system shows signs of wear or fails to hold securely.
- After any significant impact — even one with no visible external damage — retire the helmet immediately, as the EPS liner may be compressed in ways that are not visible to the naked eye.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel, oil, paint fumes and sharp objects; a helmet bag is recommended to protect the shell and visor from scratching.
- As a general guideline, consider replacing the helmet after five years of use from the date of manufacture regardless of condition, as shell materials and liner foams degrade over time.
