  • Drain the coolant completely before disassembling the water pump; dispose of used coolant in accordance with local regulations.
  • Inspect the impeller shaft and housing for wear or corrosion before fitting new seals — replace additional worn components as required.
  • Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly before installation to ensure proper seal seating and prevent coolant leaks.
  • Apply a light film of clean coolant or assembly lubricant to new seals prior to fitting, as specified in the OEM workshop manual.
  • Refill the cooling system with a fresh coolant mix at the manufacturer-recommended ratio after reassembly.
