The Vance & Hines VO2 X Black America is a complete bolt-on air intake for Harley-Davidson Softail and Touring models, built to free up airflow on the intake side of an American v-twin while making a clear visual statement. A special-edition CNC machined billet cover carrying the Stars & Stripes sits over a high-capacity washable filter element, secured with ARP hardware.

Behind the cover, the patent-pending Force™ velocity stack shapes air into the throttle body, and the kit arrives with the backing plate, venturi and breather assemblies needed to fit it. It suits riders after a straightforward performance and appearance upgrade over the restrictive standard airbox, and it is a natural first step alongside an exhaust and fuelling package.

Supplied in the black finish; the same intake is also offered in chrome.

Confirm fitment against your exact model and year before fitting — some listings for this part show coverage as 2018–2021 rather than 2018–2022.
Fit with the engine cold and follow the instructions supplied in the kit; retain the original air cleaner and hardware if you may want to return the bike to standard.
Make sure the breather assembly and all hoses are correctly routed and connected before starting the engine — leaving a breather disconnected can cause oil misting and running faults.
Tighten the ARP hardware progressively and evenly to the values given in the fitting instructions; do not overtighten billet components.
After fitting, check whether your bike's fuelling needs recalibrating — intake changes commonly require a fuel management or tuning update to run correctly.
Inspect the filter element regularly and clean it more often if you ride in dusty, gravel or wet conditions.
Clean the reusable element with a purpose-made air filter cleaner as directed by the manufacturer, then let it dry completely before refitting. Do not use petrol or harsh solvents, and do not blast it with high-pressure air, which can tear the media.
Never run the engine without the filter element in place.
Wipe the billet cover with a soft damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry it off. Avoid abrasive pads, polishes and solvent-based cleaners so the black finish is not marked.
Rinse away salt, bug residue and road grime after wet or coastal rides, and re-check the cover fasteners at each service interval.
