The Vance & Hines Optional Quiet Baffle is a factory replacement insert that drops the sound level of a Vance & Hines slip-on or full system without changing its look. It suits riders who want the exhaust's character but a calmer note for commuting, group rides, early starts or noise-sensitive areas.

Fitted in place of the standard baffle, it produces a deeper, more mellow tone on a stock motor. It is machined from stainless steel and is sold individually, so twin-muffler systems require two.

  • Optional quiet baffle for Vance & Hines exhaust systems
  • Lowers sound levels on a stock motor
  • Delivers a deeper, mellower exhaust tone
  • Stainless steel construction
  • Direct replacement for the standard baffle — no change to muffler appearance
  • Sold individually (two required for twin-muffler systems)
  • 1 x quiet baffle

  • Only work on the exhaust when it is completely cold — mufflers retain heat well after the engine is switched off.
  • Remove the existing baffle by undoing the baffle retaining fastener at the muffler outlet, then slide the standard baffle out.
  • Slide the quiet baffle in, align the retaining hole and refit the fastener; do not overtighten into the muffler body.
  • Keep the original baffle stored safely so the exhaust can be returned to its standard sound at any time.
  • If your system uses two mufflers, fit a matching baffle to each so the note stays even.
  • Re-check the retaining fastener after the first few rides and periodically thereafter, as heat cycling and vibration can loosen it.
  • Clean the visible baffle end and muffler outlet with a soft damp cloth and a mild cleaner once cool; avoid abrasive pads and harsh solvents on polished or chrome finishes.
  • Remove built-up soot from the outlet regularly so it does not bake on and stain the muffler tip.
  • Have fuelling checked if the bike runs poorly after fitment, as changing baffles alters exhaust flow.
  • Do not ride with a loose or partially fitted baffle — it can shift or be ejected under load.
