Description

The Vance & Hines Hi-Output 2-Into-1 Short is a full replacement exhaust system that brings the brand's Hi-Output character to a compact, tucked-up 2-into-1 layout. It takes the signature stepped megaphone silhouette and shortens it, keeping the aggressive stance without the visual bulk of a full-length system.

It suits riders on the Harley-Davidson Breakout (2013–2017), Rocker (2008–2011) and 2009 CVO Softail who want the performance characteristics of a 2-into-1 collector paired with the deep, throaty note the Hi-Output range is known for. A CNC-machined billet end cap finishes the muffler, and an optional quiet baffle is available for riders who want to take the edge off the volume.

Fitment is model-specific — please confirm your model and year before ordering. Professional installation is recommended.

Operations & maintenance

Have the system fitted by a qualified motorcycle technician, and check your model and year against the fitment list before installation.
Install all fasteners and clamps loosely first, align the system to the bike, then tighten evenly to avoid stressing joints or mounts.
Before the first start-up, wipe the entire system down with a clean cloth and a mild degreaser to remove fingerprints, grease and packing residue — oils left on the surface will bake in and stain permanently once the pipes heat up.
After the first few heat cycles, re-check and re-tighten the clamps, header flange nuts and mounting bolts, as joints commonly settle once the system has been up to temperature.
A full exhaust change alters exhaust flow, so discuss fuel-management or tuning requirements with your technician to keep the engine running correctly.
Let the exhaust cool completely before cleaning or handling; the pipes and muffler reach high temperatures and stay hot well after shutdown.
Clean with warm water, mild soap and a soft cloth, then dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh solvents and oven or wheel cleaners, which can damage the finish and the billet end cap.
Wash off road salt, mud and bug residue promptly, particularly after wet-weather or coastal riding, to reduce the risk of corrosion and staining.
Periodically listen and inspect for exhaust leaks, rattles or a loose baffle, and check that heat shields and brackets remain secure.
If you fit or remove the optional quiet baffle, make sure its retaining hardware is correctly secured so it cannot work loose while riding.
