The Vance & Hines Fuelpak FP4 is a plug-in ECU tuner for the Harley-Davidson Pan America, 2021 onwards. It succeeds the widely used Fuelpak FP3 and puts tuning, live engine data and diagnostics in the Vance & Hines FP4 app on your phone, so you can flash a new calibration in the shed rather than booking dyno time.
It suits riders who have fitted a slip-on or full exhaust, an aftermarket air cleaner, or both, and want a calibration matched to that combination. You can pick a dyno-developed map from the Vance & Hines library for your specific parts, or use AutoTune to refine a map from your own riding, then flash the result back to the ECM.
Live sensor data and the ability to read and clear trouble codes also make it a useful everyday diagnostic tool, and Vance & Hines back the product with support from their own FP4 technicians.

- Follow the installation instructions supplied with the unit for connecting the module to the motorcycle's diagnostic connector, and make sure the plug is fully seated before powering up.
- Make sure the motorcycle's battery is fully charged (or a charger is connected) before flashing the ECM — a drop in voltage part way through a flash can leave the ECM in an incomplete state.
- Do not crank the engine, switch off the ignition or unplug the module while a flash is in progress; wait for the app to confirm the process has finished.
- Keep the FP4 app and the module's firmware up to date so the latest calibrations and fixes are available.
- Select the calibration that matches your actual air cleaner and exhaust combination, and reflash whenever you change either component.
- For AutoTune, run the mode over a varied ride covering a spread of throttle openings and gears, then flash the collected data back into the ECM once you are finished.
- If the motorcycle is going in for dealer diagnostics or service, return the ECM to its original calibration through the app first.
- Store the module in a dry place away from heat and moisture when it is not fitted, and keep the connector clean and free of dirt.
- Wipe the housing with a dry or lightly damp cloth only; do not use solvents, and do not pressure wash near the diagnostic connector.
- Calibrations are supplied to 49-state (US) emissions specifications — check current Australian road-use and emissions requirements for your state before riding on the road.
