A replacement Twin Air dual-stage foam air filter made specifically for the Rade Garage airbox fitted to KTM 690 and Husqvarna 701 large-capacity singles. It is shaped for that aftermarket airbox rather than the standard OEM housing, so it seals and breathes the way the airbox was designed to.

Twin Air builds its filters from open-pore foam in two fused layers: a coarse outer layer that grabs airborne dirt, grime and sand, and a finer inner layer that catches the small stuff before it reaches the throttle body. Fusing the layers stops dirt collecting between them, which is a known weakness of two-piece filters, and the thick flat foam sealing ring seats against the airbox without needing grease.

Suited to desert, dusty trail and adventure riding where filtration matters as much as airflow. Foam construction means it can be washed, re-oiled and used again, so keeping a spare on hand makes servicing between rides straightforward.

  • Made for the Rade Garage airbox — not a fit for the standard OEM airbox
  • Dual-stage open-pore foam construction for filtration and airflow
  • Coarse outer foam layer traps airborne dirt, grime and sand
  • Fine inner foam layer catches the smallest particles as a second stage
  • Outer and inner elements are fused so dirt cannot lodge between the layers
  • Thick, flat greaseless foam sealing ring seats against the airbox and acts as a breathable gasket
  • Twin Air's own adhesive formulation is used so glue seams resist breaking down
  • Washable and re-oilable foam element for repeat servicing
  • Twin Air dual-stage foam air filter element

Service lifeReusable — washable and re-oilable
  • Confirm you are running the Rade Garage airbox before fitting — this element is shaped for that airbox and will not seal correctly in the standard OEM housing.
  • Make sure the element is evenly oiled with a foam-filter-specific oil before it goes in; work the oil right through the foam so there are no dry patches, then squeeze out the excess.
  • Do not grease the sealing ring — the thick flat foam ring is designed to seal dry against the airbox face.
  • Seat the filter squarely against the airbox flange and check the sealing ring is in full contact all the way around before closing the airbox.
  • Service more often in dusty, sandy or desert conditions than in cool, clean conditions, and inspect the element any time the bike has been ridden in heavy dust.
  • Clean with a dedicated foam filter cleaner or biodegradable filter wash; avoid petrol, kerosene and harsh solvents, which attack the foam and the glue seams.
  • Squeeze the filter to work cleaner and water through it rather than wringing, twisting or stretching it, which can tear the foam or split the seams.
  • Let the element dry completely before re-oiling and refitting — oiling damp foam gives patchy coverage and poor filtration.
  • Check the foam and glue seams each service for tears, hardening or separation, and replace the filter if you find any damage.
  • Store clean spare filters oiled and in a sealed bag, out of direct sunlight, so they are ready to swap in trailside.
