Top Master Yamaha Xmax 125/300 Tech

The SHAD Top Master is a model-specific mounting kit that gives your Yamaha X-MAX a solid, purpose-engineered base for a SHAD top case. Rather than a generic universal rack, it is designed around this scooter's rear subframe and bodywork, so the fitment is clean and the load is carried where the bike is built to take it.

It suits commuters and everyday riders who want secure, lockable storage for a helmet, laptop bag or shopping without permanently altering the bike. Fitting and removal are straightforward, so the mount can stay on year-round while the case comes on and off as needed.

Note: this is the mounting kit only. A SHAD top case mounting plate is also required — one is supplied with most SHAD top cases, though TERRA models use a separate plate that is sold separately.

Fit the kit using the fasteners supplied and follow the instructions included with the mount; do not substitute bolts of unknown grade or length.
A SHAD top case mounting plate must be fitted to the Top Master before a case can be attached — check whether your case includes one (TERRA cases do not).
Before every ride, confirm the case is fully seated and that the lock or latch has engaged on the plate.
Re-check the tightness of all mounting bolts after the first ride or two, then periodically as part of routine servicing — vibration can loosen fasteners over time.
Stay within the maximum load stated for your top case and keep heavy items low and centred; avoid carrying unbalanced or overhanging loads at speed.
Clean with warm water, mild soapy solution and a soft cloth. Avoid solvents, degreasers, abrasive pads and high-pressure washing directly at the mounting points.
After riding in rain or on salted or coastal roads, rinse and dry the mount to limit corrosion at the brackets and fasteners.
The mount can be left fitted year-round; remove the top case when it is not needed to reduce weight and wind load.
Inspect the brackets for cracks, distortion or elongated bolt holes if the bike is dropped or the case is knocked, and stop using the mount if any damage is found.
Keep the fitting instructions and any spare hardware together in case the mount is removed and refitted later.
