Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using correct bead lubricant and rim locks where required.
Set and check cold inflation pressure to the pressure specified by your motorcycle manufacturer or your event's requirements, and re-check before every ride.
Allow a short bedding-in period on the new tyre before hard riding, as fresh tread and any release agent reduce initial grip.
Inspect the tread and sidewalls before each ride for cuts, torn or missing knobs, embedded debris and exposed cords, and replace the tyre if damage is found.
Check that rim locks are tight and the valve stem sits square to the rim after the first few rides; a leaning stem indicates the tyre has spun on the rim.
Avoid running very low pressures on hard-packed surfaces, as this accelerates knob tearing and casing damage.
Store spare tyres flat or upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors, fuels and solvents.
Clean with water and mild soap only; do not use tyre dressings, petroleum-based solvents or degreasers on the tread.
Replace the tube (where fitted) whenever the tyre is replaced, and do not attempt to repair off-road competition tyres for continued racing use.
