- Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using correct bead lubricant and rim locks where required.
- Set and check cold inflation pressure to the pressure specified by your motorcycle manufacturer or your event's requirements, and re-check before every ride.
- Allow a short bedding-in period on the new tyre before hard riding, as fresh tread and any release agent reduce initial grip.
- Inspect the tread and sidewalls before each ride for cuts, torn or missing knobs, embedded debris and exposed cords, and replace the tyre if damage is found.
- Check that rim locks are tight and the valve stem sits square to the rim after the first few rides; a leaning stem indicates the tyre has spun on the rim.
- Avoid running very low pressures on hard-packed surfaces, as this accelerates knob tearing and casing damage.
- Store spare tyres flat or upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors, fuels and solvents.
- Clean with water and mild soap only; do not use tyre dressings, petroleum-based solvents or degreasers on the tread.
- Replace the tube (where fitted) whenever the tyre is replaced, and do not attempt to repair off-road competition tyres for continued racing use.
