Description

The Alpinestars Tech 7S brings the construction and protection philosophy of the adult Tech 7 down to a boot built specifically for junior and smaller-framed riders. Everything — the last, the flex zones, the buckle spacing — is scaled for younger legs rather than simply shrunk, so the boot still moves with the rider instead of fighting them.

It's aimed at motocross, enduro and off-road riders who need genuine impact protection without the stiffness that stops a young rider feeling the bike. A microfibre upper keeps weight down and cleans up easily after a muddy meeting, while the medial and lateral pivot system allows natural ankle articulation under load.

Finished in red, and CE certified to EN 13634:2010.

Operations & maintenance

Allow a short break-in period — ride a few sessions at moderate pace so the flex zones, gaiter and pivot system settle to the rider's ankle movement before racing.
Set each buckle to its correct notch during the first fitting; the memory function then returns the boot to that setting every time, so check the arms are properly seated in the aluminium bridges before every ride.
Knock off heavy mud after each ride, then wash the microfibre upper with lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft brush or cloth. Rinse and wipe dry — avoid petrol, brake cleaner, solvents and harsh degreasers, which attack microfibre, TPU and stitching.
Never dry the boots with direct heat such as a heater, fire or hot-air gun. Air-dry them at room temperature away from sunlight, ideally with the footbeds removed and the gaiters open.
Remove the anatomic footbeds after wet or sweaty rides so both the footbed and the boot interior dry fully; this also helps control odour.
Inspect the buckles, buckle arms and straps regularly for cracks or bending, and replace damaged components — all buckles are designed to be replaceable rather than repaired.
Check the sole for wear at the toe, heel and grip pattern. The sole is replaceable, so have it renewed once the tread is worn smooth rather than continuing to ride on a slick sole.
Inspect the shin plate, toe protector and foot shell after any crash or heavy impact, and retire the boot if the protective structure is cracked or deformed — impact protection cannot be relied on once damaged.
Store the boots upright in a cool, dry, ventilated space with the buckles lightly fastened to help them hold their shape; avoid leaving them compressed in a gear bag for long periods.
As the rider grows, check fit each season — a boot that has become too small compromises both comfort and the position of the ankle pivot protection.
