SMK Stellar Helmet - MATT BLACK

Size: XS

The SMK Stellar is a full-face road helmet built around a dual-shell construction, so smaller sizes get a proportionally smaller shell rather than one oversized outer moulding. Bold contours and a purposeful, aggressive profile give it a modern look, while the low overall weight and even fit keep it comfortable over long stints in the saddle.

It suits commuters, weekend riders and tourers after a well-equipped everyday helmet: a wide-vision, Pinlock-ready visor with quick-release changes, through-flow ventilation, and a fully removable, washable comfort liner. Speaker pockets are moulded into the EPS, so a Bluetooth intercom can be fitted without pressure points.

This listing is the Matt Black (MA200) colourway.

  • Aerodynamic EIRT (Energy Impact Resistant Thermoplastic) outer shell
  • Two shell sizes across the range (XS–M and L–2XL) for a proportional fit

  • Check the fit before every ride and adjust the micrometric buckle so the chin strap is firm under the jaw; the ratchet should click home and release only via the red tab.
  • Remove the cheek pads and comfort liner and hand wash them in cool water with a mild soap, then air dry away from direct heat or sunlight before refitting.
  • Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth and warm water with a little mild soap; avoid petrol, thinners, ammonia-based glass cleaners and other solvents, which can attack the EIRT shell and the visor coating.
  • Clean the visor by soaking off insects with a damp cloth first, then wiping gently — never wipe a dry or gritty visor, as this will scratch the coating.
  • If you fit a Pinlock insert, install it in a clean, dust-free area and avoid touching the anti-fog face of the lens; clean it only with a damp cloth and no chemicals.
  • Use the quick-release mechanism to swap visors rather than forcing the visor off, and keep the pivot points clean and free of grit.
  • Keep the chin and top intakes and the rear exhausts clear of insects and road debris so the through-flow ventilation keeps working.
  • When fitting an intercom, use the moulded speaker pockets rather than cutting or compressing the EPS, and route wiring so it does not sit against your head.
  • Remove or refit the breath deflector and chin curtain to suit the season — the chin curtain cuts wind noise and cold air in winter, and both can be taken out in hot weather.
  • Store the helmet in its bag in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and fuel or solvent vapours; never hang it on a mirror or handlebar end, which can crush the liner.
  • Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even if there is no visible damage, as the EPS is designed to compress once.
