Clean the outer shell with a mild soap solution and a soft microfibre cloth; avoid petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners or spirit-based products as these degrade polycarbonate.
Clean the visor with a dedicated visor cleaner or lukewarm soapy water; never use dry cloths on a fogged or dusty visor as this causes scratching.
Retract the internal sun visor fully before cleaning the main visor to avoid jamming the drop-down mechanism.
Remove the inner liner and cheek pads and hand-wash in cool water with a mild detergent; allow to air-dry completely before refitting — do not tumble dry or use direct heat.
Inspect the peak attachment points and visor pivot screws periodically; tighten if loose to prevent vibration-induced loosening at speed.
Store the helmet in its protective bag in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and chemical storage — UV and hydrocarbon exposure degrade shell materials over time.
Replace the helmet following any significant impact, even if no visible damage is apparent; internal EPS liners compress permanently and do not recover.
Do not paint, apply stickers with solvent-based adhesives or use chemical spray-on polish on the shell; these can compromise structural integrity.
