Description

The Alpinestars S-M3 Heat is an off-road helmet built for motocross, enduro and trail riding, finished here in a gloss white, purple and pink colourway. Its thermo-injected shell uses a polymer blend with varying wall thicknesses, so impact performance is concentrated where it is needed without carrying unnecessary weight.

Airflow is a priority: ten intake vents and seven exhaust ports move heat away from the head on long motos and hot Australian trail days. Inside, a multi-density EPS structure, Alpinestars' patented low-friction liner coating and a patented visor release system work together to manage both direct and oblique impacts.

The helmet is ECE 22.06 homologated and DOT certified, with removable, hydration-compatible cheek pads and an emergency release system for trackside first responders. Crown and cheek pads are offered as genuine spares in different thicknesses, so the fit can be fine-tuned to the rider.

Key Features

  • ECE 22.06 homologated and DOT certified for worldwide use
  • Thermo-injected shell in a polymer blend with varying thickness for impact protection at low weight

  • Five-piece EPS liner using four densities to manage volume and impact performance
  • Inner and outer surfaces shaped to minimise the effects of oblique impacts
  • Chin area shell thickness and structure optimised to meet an in-house Alpinestars chin impact standard above homologation requirements

Operations & maintenance

Check the fit before first ride: the helmet should sit firmly with no pressure points, and the double D-ring strap should be pulled snug so it is comfortable but cannot be rolled off the back of the head.
Fine-tune the fit with genuine Alpinestars crown and cheek pads, which are sold as spare parts in different thicknesses.
Remove the comfort liner and cheek pads for cleaning; wash by hand in lukewarm water with a mild soap and allow them to air dry completely away from direct heat or sunlight before refitting.
Clean the shell and peak with a soft damp cloth and mild soapy water only. Do not use petrol, solvents, thinners, ammonia-based cleaners or abrasive pads, as these can damage the shell, paint and EPS.
After wet or muddy rides, rinse mud from the intake and exhaust vents so airflow is not blocked, then dry the helmet at room temperature rather than with a heat gun or heater.
Keep the hydration tube routed through the dedicated channels in the cheek pads so the tube is not pinched under the strap or against the cheek.
Familiarise yourself and your riding companions with the Emergency Release System tabs, so the cheek pads can be withdrawn to remove the helmet safely after a crash.
Refit the visor using the patented release system and check it is properly seated and the screws are firm before each ride; the system is designed to detach in an impact and can be re-seated afterwards.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, and avoid leaving it on a mirror, handlebar or hot exhaust where the liner or shell can be damaged.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even if no damage is visible, and never paint, drill or modify the shell or fit non-genuine parts.
