The SHAD SH23 is a pair of hard side cases built for riders who want practical luggage without spoiling the lines of a sports or sport-touring machine. The sculpted, low-profile shells sit close to the bike for an almost factory-fitted look, and the aerodynamic shape helps keep wind noise and drag in check when you're loaded up.
Each case carries a usable 23 litres, and the lid opens from the top so you can reach your gear without climbing off the bike. A deeply overlapping lid and positive latch keep the weather out, while one-handed opening and closing means the key is only needed when you want to lock the case to the motorcycle.
The SH23 mounts on SHAD's patented 3P System side racks, which are bike-specific and sold separately. The 3P arm hides the mounting points when the cases are removed, positions the load closer to the motorcycle's centre of gravity, and anchors at three points for a balance of security and controlled flex.

- Fit the bike-specific SHAD 3P System side racks first (sold separately); the SH23 cases will not mount without them.
- Check that both cases are fully latched and locked onto the 3P arms before every ride, and re-check after the first few kilometres of a loaded trip.
- Do not exceed the 10 lb (approx. 4.5 kg) load limit per case, and keep heavy items low and forward so the weight sits close to the motorcycle's centre of gravity.
- Balance the load between the left and right cases so the bike handles predictably, and remember that fitted luggage changes cornering clearance, width and stability at speed.
- Periodically inspect the rack bolts and mounting hardware for tightness, and check the case latches and hinges for wear or damage.
- Keep the lid seal and sealing edge clean; grit and grime on the seal are the usual cause of water getting in.
- Wash with warm water and a mild detergent using a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid solvents, petrol, harsh chemicals and abrasive pads, which can dull or craze the thermoplastic shell.
- Rinse off road salt, insects and grime after wet or coastal riding, then dry the cases before closing and storing them.
- Occasionally lubricate the lock barrels with a dry graphite or PTFE lock lubricant rather than heavy oil, which attracts dirt.
- If you fit the supplied extra lock cylinder to key the side and top cases alike, keep the spare keys and the original cylinder in a safe place.
- Remove the cases when they are not needed to reduce width and weight, and store them indoors, out of direct sunlight, ideally with the lids ajar so the interior stays dry and odour-free.
