Description

The Lok-Up Wire Security Cable is a 1.8 metre flexible hardened steel cable, 10mm thick, made for anchoring a motorcycle or scooter to a fixed object such as a post, pole or tree. One end is looped, so you feed the cable around the anchor point and back through itself for the full 1.8 metre reach.

The hardened steel construction is difficult to attack with bolt cutters, while the wire build stays flexible enough to coil down and carry with you or stow under a seat. It suits riders who park on the street, at work or at events and want a visible, practical deterrent that pairs with a padlock or disc lock.

Operations & maintenance

Loop the cable around a fixed, immovable anchor such as a post, pole or tree, then feed the free end back through the looped end to take up the full 1.8m reach.
Secure the free end with a padlock or lock body through a solid part of the motorcycle, such as the frame or a wheel — avoid looping through fairings, plastics or brake lines.
Keep the cable and lock point up off the ground where possible, so the cable cannot be braced against concrete and attacked.
Dry the cable after riding or washing in the wet, and wipe off road salt or grit before stowing it, to slow corrosion of the steel strands.
Store coiled loosely in a dry place; tight kinks and repeated sharp bends will fray the wire strands over time.
Inspect the cable periodically for broken strands, flattened sections or a damaged outer covering, and replace it if the steel is exposed or frayed.
Use the cable for security only — do not use it for towing, lifting, recovery or tie-down duties.
Where practical, pair the cable with a disc lock or alarm for a layered deterrent rather than relying on a single device.
