WMP SHOCK ABSORBER REAR #8 320mm B (pair)

The Whites Motorcycle Parts #8 320mm rear shock absorbers are a chrome-finished replacement pair aimed at classic restorations and custom builds, where a period-correct look matters as much as ride quality. They are sold as a matched pair and measured 320mm eyelet to eyelet with the shock fully extended, so fitment can be checked against your existing units before ordering.

Inside, a progressive rate spring works with multi-stage velocity-sensitive hydraulic damping to resist bottoming out over sharp hits while still settling comfortably on ordinary road surfaces. Multi-position adjustment lets you tune the setup to suit rider weight and load.

These are aftermarket units. Confirm eye-to-eye length, eye size and mounting style against your machine before purchase, as suitability for a given application is the buyer's responsibility.

Before fitting, measure your existing shocks fully extended from eyelet centre to eyelet centre and confirm 320mm suits your machine.
Check that the 12mm eye size and bushing-style top and bottom mounts match your frame and swingarm mounting points.
Always replace rear shocks as a pair so damping and spring rates are matched side to side.
Set both shocks to the same adjustment position; mismatched settings will make the rear end handle unpredictably.
Tighten mounting fasteners to your motorcycle manufacturer's specified torque, and re-check them after the first ride and again after the first few hundred kilometres.
Clean the chrome with a soft damp cloth and a mild detergent, then dry thoroughly; avoid abrasive pads, polishes with cutting compounds and strong solvents.
Do not aim a pressure washer directly at the shaft, seals or bushings, as forced water can carry grit past the seal.
After wet or salty rides, rinse and dry the shocks and apply a light corrosion inhibitor to the chrome, keeping it off the damper shaft.
Inspect periodically for oil weeping around the shaft, worn or split mounting bushings, and pitting or chipping of the chrome, and replace the pair if any are found.
Store spare or off-season shocks upright in a dry place away from direct sunlight and chemicals.
