Clean the inside of the rim thoroughly and remove all moisture and debris before fitting — rim tape will not adhere correctly to a dirty or wet surface.
Centre the tape over the spoke holes, ensuring full coverage of the entire spoke bed with no gaps around nipple holes.
Work the tape down evenly to avoid air bubbles or folds that could create pressure points against the tube.
Ensure the valve hole in the tape aligns precisely with the rim's valve hole before seating the inner tube.
Inspect rim tape whenever a tyre or tube is changed; replace if the tape shows cracking, lifting edges, or any perforation over spoke holes.
Do not reuse rim tape once removed — adhesion is compromised and a fresh strip should be fitted.
Store unused strips rolled and sealed in a cool, dry location away from UV light to preserve adhesion.
