The RMSTATOR RM30326 is a MOSFET voltage regulator/rectifier built as a direct replacement for the original unit on the Harley-Davidson V-Rod 1250, 2008 to 2016. It uses the same plugs and pin layout as the factory part, so it fits in the standard location and connects to the existing loom without splicing or adaptors.
MOSFET regulators switch the stator output rather than dumping excess current as heat the way older diode/shunt-style units do, so they run cooler and place less continuous load on the stator. This unit also has an overheat protection mode: instead of cooking itself, it shuts down until temperatures drop back into range. It is a sensible choice for riders replacing a failed factory regulator, or upgrading a bike with a history of charging problems, warm regulators or flat batteries.
Electrical components should be fitted by a qualified technician, and the cause of the original failure identified before the new unit goes on.

- Have the unit fitted by a qualified technician — incorrect installation of electrical components can damage the regulator and the charging system.
- Diagnose and repair the cause of the original regulator failure (damaged stator, corroded or melted connectors, poor earths, bad battery) before fitting the replacement.
- Fully charge and load-test the battery before any charging system testing or parts replacement; no regulator will work correctly with a weak or failing battery.
- Mount the unit in the original location using the 100 mm centre-to-centre fixing holes, and keep the heat sink fins clear so airflow can carry heat away.
- Inspect both plugs and all five pins for corrosion, spread terminals or heat discolouration; replace damaged connectors rather than reusing them.
- Check charging output at the battery terminals with a multimeter — expect around 14.5V ±0.5V at operating rpm once the engine is warm.
- Keep the unit within its -20°C to 85°C operating range; if it shuts down from heat, let it cool and investigate airflow, loom condition and stator output rather than simply restarting.
- Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running, and avoid aiming a pressure washer directly at the regulator or its connectors.
- Clean the housing and fins with a damp cloth and a soft brush; keep solvents away from the plug seals and wiring.
