Wear the vest as the outermost layer, over your riding jacket, so the fluorescent fabric and reflective strips are never covered by a bag strap, backpack or jacket collar.
Do the front zipper fully up before riding — the automatic locking slider holds position best when the zip is closed to the top.
Keep the vest clean: road film, dust and oil sitting on the reflective strips cuts how much light they return at night.
Wash separately in cool water with a mild detergent. Avoid bleach, solvents and fabric softeners, which break down fluorescent dyes and the reflective tape.
Do not iron directly over the reflective strips and keep the vest away from direct heat sources when drying — air dry out of prolonged direct sunlight.
Avoid tumble drying on high heat, as heat can lift or craze the reflective tape edges.
Store folded or on a hanger in a cool, dry place; long-term exposure to sunlight fades hi-viz fabric even when the vest is not being worn.
Inspect before rides for frayed stitching, lifting reflective tape or a zipper that no longer locks.
Replace the vest when the yellow fabric has visibly faded, or when the reflective strips are cracked, peeling or dull under a torch — a worn vest no longer performs to its certified visibility level.
