The Rjays Apex IV Raker is a full face road helmet built around an advanced polycarbonate shell and certified to ECE 22.06, the current European helmet standard. Its aerodynamic shape and through-flow ventilation are aimed at everyday riding, commuting and longer stints on the highway.

An internal sun visor drops into place with a side lever, so you can deal with changing light without carrying a second shield, while the Pinlock-prepared outer visor handles cold and damp mornings. The liner and cheek pads come out for washing, and there is space moulded in for intercom speakers if you run comms.

Finished in a Black/Grey/Orange graphic, it suits street and touring riders after a well-equipped helmet without a premium price tag.

Check the fit before each ride: the helmet should sit level, grip the cheeks firmly and not roll forward when the micrometric strap is done up snugly under the jaw.
Clean the shell, visor and internal sun shield with warm water and a mild soap on a soft, non-abrasive cloth; petrol, solvents, thinners and household cleaners will damage the polycarbonate shell and the visor coatings.
Soften dried insects by laying a damp cloth over the visor for a few minutes rather than scrubbing, which scratches the coating.
Remove the liner and cheek pads for washing, wash them gently by hand in mild soapy water, and let them air dry completely away from direct heat and sunlight before refitting.
Use the tool-less quick-change system to remove and refit the visor, and confirm the mechanism is fully latched on both sides before riding.
If you fit a Pinlock insert, install it on a clean, dry visor and avoid wiping the insert's moisture-absorbing face; clean it only with water and let it air dry.
Retract the internal sun visor before riding at night or in low light, and operate it with the side lever rather than pulling on the shield itself.
After wet rides, let the helmet dry naturally in a ventilated spot and keep it away from heaters, hair dryers and hot exhausts.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, ideally in its bag, and do not hang it over a mirror or handlebar where the lining can be compressed or torn.
Retire and replace any helmet that has taken an impact, even if there is no visible damage to the shell.
