Clean the inside of the rim thoroughly and ensure it is dry and free of debris before fitting the rim tape.
Centre the tape over the spoke nipple holes, ensuring full coverage with no gaps or folds.
Inspect the rim tape each time a tyre or tube is changed; replace immediately if torn, kinked, or showing signs of deterioration.
Do not reuse rim tape that has been stretched, creased or punctured during removal.
Store unused rim tape flat in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and ozone sources (such as electric motors) to prevent rubber degradation.
Ensure the tape overlaps cleanly at the join point without creating a raised ridge that could stress the tube.
