The Renthal Top Triple Clamp (part CT009) is a direct replacement for the standard top clamp on Yamaha YZ and YZF models from 2004–2005. It clamps the fork tubes and steering stem, and carries the handlebar mounts, so it sits at the heart of the bike's front end.

Intended for motocross and off-road riders replacing a damaged or worn clamp, or building a front end around new bars. Renthal engineer their clamps for precise fitment to the fork tubes and steering stem, which is what keeps fork action consistent and the front end feeling predictable.

Fitment is listed as Yamaha YZ and YZF models 2004–2005. Please confirm the clamp suits your exact model and fork configuration before ordering.

  • Fitting is a workshop job: work with the front end supported and the fork tubes, steering stem and clamp bores clean and free of grit before assembly.
  • Tighten pinch bolts progressively in stages, alternating between sides, to the torque values given in the Yamaha service manual — use a calibrated torque wrench rather than working by feel.
  • Do not over-torque the pinch bolts; excessive clamping force can distort fork tubes and spoil fork action.
  • Set fork tube height evenly on both legs and check handlebar and front wheel alignment before the bike is ridden.
  • Re-check the clamp bolts and handlebar mount hardware after the first ride, then at regular service intervals — motocross vibration and hard landings can loosen fasteners.
  • Clean with mild detergent and water and dry thoroughly; avoid strong solvents and caustic degreasers, and don't aim a pressure washer directly at the steering head.
  • Inspect the clamp for cracks, bending or damaged threads after any crash or heavy landing. Replace a damaged clamp rather than attempting to straighten or repair it.
  • Keep the steering head bearings adjusted and greased to the manufacturer's schedule — a notchy or loose head affects front-end feel regardless of the clamp fitted.
