Oxford Coolmax Boot Socks

The Oxford Coolmax Boot Socks are long riding socks built to be worn inside motorcycle boots. Full-length shin padding runs up the front of the leg, adding a cushioning layer between your shin and the boot to help reduce bruising and abrasion on the road, on the trail or on a long day in the saddle.

The blend combines natural fibres with high-tech yarns, so they stay comfortable over extended wear rather than just for a short ride. They suit riders in tall road, adventure or off-road boots, and the padded shin also makes them useful for other boot-based activities. Available in S and L.

Always follow the care label sewn into the sock — it takes precedence over any general advice.
Pull the sock up so the padded panel sits flat over the shin before pulling your boot on; a twisted panel will chafe.
Wash after each ride or long wear; salt and grit trapped in the fibres accelerate wear and cause irritation.
Turn inside out and wash with like colours to protect the padding and the outer surface.
Avoid bleach and fabric softener — they degrade the elastic Lycra content and reduce the padding's loft over time.
Air dry away from direct heat, radiators and exhaust pipes; high heat damages elastane and nylon fibres.
Do not iron the padded shin panel.
Store flat or loosely folded rather than stretched over a hook, and keep them dry to avoid mildew in the cotton.
Retire a pair once the shin padding flattens permanently or the cuff loses its grip, as the protection and fit are no longer doing their job.
