- Before washing, remove the knee protectors, hip protectors and thermal liner — armour should never go through the machine or dryer.
- Wash the outer shell separately on a gentle, cool cycle with a mild detergent; skip fabric softener, bleach and any solvent-based cleaner, as these can clog the membrane and strip the fabric's water repellency.
- Hang the pant to dry away from direct heat sources such as radiators, heaters or a clothes dryer.
- Spot-clean the thermal liner by hand and let it air dry fully before refitting, so moisture is not trapped against the membrane.
- Wipe the protectors with a damp cloth and mild soap only, and air dry them out of direct sunlight.
- Set the knee protectors to the position that puts them over the centre of your kneecap while seated on the bike, and check the height again after any change in boots or seat position.
- Use the waist adjustment straps to remove excess slack — armour only works when it stays where it is placed.
- After riding in the rain, hang the pant to dry at room temperature and leave the pockets and vents open so trapped water can escape.
- If water starts beading less on the outer fabric, refresh it with a wash-in or spray-on DWR treatment suitable for technical waterproof textiles; this restores surface repellency without affecting the membrane.
- Store clean and completely dry on a hanger in a cool, ventilated spot away from prolonged sunlight, rather than folded in a compressed bag.
- Inspect zips, seams, snap buttons and reflective strips periodically, and keep the YKK jacket-connection zip free of grit so it runs smoothly.
- Retire the garment and its armour after any crash impact, even where damage is not visible.
- Choosing a selection results in a full page refresh.
