The LS2 MX702 Pioneer II is a dual-sport adventure helmet built around a lightweight KPA shell, pairing the peak and open-face lines of an off-road lid with the wind protection and quiet of a full-face road helmet. It carries ECE 22.06 homologation and is shaped in a long oval fit.

It suits adventure and dual-sport riders who move between highway kilometres and dirt, thanks to an adjustable, removable peak and a twin visor system with a drop-down internal sun visor. The wide outer visor is scratch- and UV-resistant and is Pinlock 70 MaxVision ready for fog-free vision in cold or wet conditions.

Comfort comes from a removable, washable, hypoallergenic laser-cut liner, a chin curtain and multiple top intakes with channelled EPS and exhaust ports. It is also prepared for the LS2 Spectrum intercom for riders who run comms.

Check the fit before riding: the helmet should sit firmly with no pressure points, and the micrometric buckle should be adjusted so the chin strap is snug against the jaw.
Remove the comfort liner and cheek pads for washing; hand wash in lukewarm water with mild soap, rinse thoroughly and air dry away from direct heat and sunlight before refitting.
Clean the shell and peak with lukewarm water and a mild soap on a soft cloth. Avoid petrol, solvents, thinners and other harsh chemicals, which can damage the KPA shell and its finish.
Clean the outer visor and drop-down sun visor with lukewarm water and a soft, non-abrasive cloth only. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners, and never wipe a dry visor, as grit will scratch the coating.
Soften dried insects and road grime by laying a damp cloth over the visor for a few minutes rather than scrubbing.
If fitting a Pinlock 70 MaxVision insert, follow the insert instructions and take care not to touch the anti-fog side, which is easily marked.
Adjust or remove the peak using its fasteners rather than pulling on the peak itself, and check the fasteners are secure before each ride, especially after highway use.
If fitting the LS2 Spectrum intercom, route the speakers and cabling into the moulded recesses so nothing presses on the head, and never modify or drill the shell or EPS to fit accessories.
Use the emergency release tabs on the cheek pads for assisted removal after a crash only, not for routine fitting.
Store the helmet in its bag in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, and keep it away from fuel vapour and exhaust heat.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even if no damage is visible, as the EPS liner is designed to compress once.
