The LS2 FF901 Advant X is a convertible touring helmet built around a chin guard that rotates a full 180° to the rear, letting you switch between full-face and open-face riding as conditions change. Its HPFC composite shell keeps weight down without giving up strength, making it a sensible choice for riders who cover long distances in changeable weather.
Wide field of view, a drop-down sun visor and a Pinlock-prepared main visor mean fewer stops to swap eyewear, while the removable, washable liner and channelled ventilation keep things comfortable on longer days. This Spectrum colourway pairs a black base with white and red graphics, and the helmet is set up to take the matching LS2 Spectrum intercom.

- Measure the widest part of your head just above the eyebrows and check it against the two-shell size chart (XS-S-M-L and XL-2XL-3XL) before choosing a size; the fit is an intermediate oval shape.
- Always fasten the micrometric metal buckle fully and check the chin strap is snug before riding — the strap should sit against the jaw with no slack.
- Operate the 180° rotating chin guard with the helmet stationary, and make sure it clicks fully home in the closed position before setting off.
- Fit the supplied Pinlock 120 MaxVision lens with clean, dry hands to the inside of the main visor, seating it on both pins; clean the insert only with a soft damp cloth as anti-fog coatings scratch easily.
- Use the quick-release system to remove the visor for cleaning; wash the visor and shell with lukewarm water and mild soap, then dry with a soft microfibre cloth. Do not use petrol, solvents, ammonia-based glass cleaners or abrasive pads.
- Remove the liner and cheek pads and hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent, then air dry away from direct heat and sunlight; refit fully and correctly before the next ride.
- The cheek pads incorporate an emergency release system for use by first responders — leave the red release tabs accessible and do not modify or tape over them.
- When mounting the LS2 Spectrum intercom, degrease the shell surface first so the double-sided adhesive bonds properly, and allow it to set before riding. Do not drill or modify the shell to fit accessories.
- After wet rides, remove the liner and let the helmet air dry naturally at room temperature rather than using a heater or hair dryer.
- Store the helmet in its bag in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, fuel and solvent fumes, and never hang it on a mirror or handlebar.
- Replace the helmet after any impact, even if there is no visible damage, and stop using it if the shell, EPS or strap shows cracks, dents or fraying.
