The Leatt Knee & Shin Guard 3.0 EXT is a full-length hard-shell protector built for off-road and enduro riders who want proper shin coverage without the bulk or heat of a sleeve-style guard. There is no sock or sleeve at all — the guard secures with a strap system, so it can be worn under or over your pants and pulled on or off without taking your boots off.
Behind the hard shell sits Leatt's 3DF ventilated impact foam, which stays soft and flexible while riding and stiffens on impact. The shell is 3D-shaped with dedicated left and right sides for a closer fit, and the extended shin plate is slim enough to sit inside most boots. An improved sliding surface on the shell helps the guard shed energy in a slide rather than grabbing.
Suited to motocross, enduro, trail and adventure riding, and supplied in plastic-free recyclable packaging.

- Check the left and right markings before fitting — the guards are handed and will not sit correctly if swapped.
- Position the hard shell centred over the kneecap with the shin plate running straight down the front of the leg, then tension the straps snugly enough to stop movement without cutting circulation.
- The slim shin plate is designed to sit inside most boots; slide it in before doing up the boot buckles so the plate sits flat against the shin.
- Re-check strap tension after the first few minutes of riding, as straps commonly settle once you are moving.
- Hand wash with lukewarm water and mild soap, then rinse thoroughly — avoid solvents, petrol, brake cleaner and abrasive scourers, which can damage the shell and degrade the impact foam.
- Air dry completely at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, and never use a heat gun, dryer or radiator; heat can distort the shell and harden the foam.
- Store flat or hanging in a cool, dry place away from prolonged sunlight and fuel or chemical fumes.
- Inspect the straps, buckles and shell before each ride, and replace the guards if the shell is cracked or deeply gouged, the foam is torn or permanently compressed, or the strap system no longer holds tension.
- After a heavy crash, treat the guards as suspect even if damage is not obvious — impact protectors are designed to absorb energy once.
