Leatt 5.5 Body Protector - Black

The Leatt 5.5 Body Protector is a full hard-shell upper-body protector built for off-road and motocross riding. A vented outer shell works with a 3DF AirFit soft impact foam lining to cover the chest, back, shoulders, elbows and flanks in one piece, so you can get proper coverage without layering separate guards.

A 3D multi-layer, multi-plate articulating build lets the protector move with you rather than against you, while the height-adjustable kidney belt and adjustable flank panels dial in the fit across a wide range of rider shapes. Extensive shell venting and a wicking anti-odour base fabric keep things liveable on long, hot motos.

It is designed to be worn with or without a Leatt neck brace, with FlipFit front and rear adjustment and the BraceOn system allowing an over-the-shirt or under-the-shirt brace fit.

Set the kidney belt height, flank panels and FlipFit front and rear adjusters before your first ride so the chest and back plates sit centred over the sternum and spine.
If you run a Leatt neck brace, fit the brace first and use the BraceOn system to position the protector around it, then re-check that nothing lifts or pinches when you get into a riding position.
Wipe the hard shell down with a soft cloth, warm water and a mild soap; avoid solvents, petrol, brake cleaner and abrasive cleaners, which can craze the shell and degrade the foam.
Rinse mud and dust out of the ventilation slots after dirty rides so airflow isn't blocked and grit doesn't sit against the liner.
Air dry the protector at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and away from heaters, exhausts or a clothes dryer - heat can distort the shell and the impact foam.
Hang or store it flat in a cool, dry place rather than crushed under other gear, and keep it out of prolonged UV exposure.
Inspect the shell, plates, straps and buckles regularly for cracks, deformation, fraying or stretched straps, and check that all fasteners are secure before each ride.
Replace the protector after any significant crash or heavy impact, even if the damage isn't visible - impact foam and shells are designed to absorb energy once.
Don't modify the protector by drilling, cutting, heating or removing plates or foam, as this voids its certified protective performance.
