Leatt 5.5 Body Protector Evo - Black

The Leatt 5.5 Body Protector EVO is a full-coverage off-road body armour built around a hard outer shell paired with Leatt's FlexMesh Pro ventilated armour. It is designed for motocross, enduro and trail riders who want serious chest, back, shoulder and elbow coverage without the bulk and heat of traditional roost deflectors.

Compared with the previous 5.5 Body Protector (up to 2023), this EVO version is 19% lighter and 50% more ventilated, so it stays comfortable through long motos and hot Australian race days. A multi-plate articulating construction and 3D flex joints let the armour move with you, while the removable front and rear plates and slimmer BraceOn system make it easy to tailor coverage and pair with a Leatt neck brace over or under your jersey.

Fit the protector before riding: set the kidney belt height and adjust the hard flank panels so the chest plate sits centred and the back plate covers the spine without restricting movement.
Remove the front and rear plates before washing the compression sock, then refit them and check all fasteners are fully engaged before your next ride.
Hand wash the modular compression sock in cool water with mild detergent; avoid bleach, solvents and fabric softeners, which can degrade the anti-odour treatment and mesh.
Wipe the hard shell and plates with a damp cloth and mild soap to remove mud, roost and sweat salts, then rinse lightly and drain.
Air dry away from direct sunlight and heat sources - never use a dryer, heater or hot car, as heat can distort the shell and armour.
Store hanging or laid flat in a cool, dry place rather than compressed in a gear bag, so the plates and flex joints keep their shape.
Inspect the shell, plates, straps and stitching regularly and after any crash; replace the protector if you find cracks, deformation, torn attachment points or armour that no longer sits correctly.
If running a Leatt neck brace, check the BraceOn attachment is correctly engaged each time you set up over or under the shirt, and re-check it after a heavy impact.
Do not modify, cut or drill the plates or shell - any alteration voids the CE impact certification.
