The Leatt 3.5 Body Protector is a modular two-piece upper-body armour system built for off-road riding. A zip-up compression suit with built-in shoulder and elbow protectors and a height-adjustable kidney belt sits against the body, then a CE-certified hard-shell chest and back protector goes over the top.

Splitting the protection across two layers means you get hard-shell coverage where impacts land, with ventilated soft armour and airflow everywhere else. It is quick to get on and off at the end of a long day, simple to clean, and designed to work either with or without a Leatt neck brace.

Separate the hard-shell chest and back plates from the compression suit before cleaning — the modular design is made to come apart for exactly this reason.
Hand wash the compression suit and kidney belt in cool water with a mild detergent; avoid bleach, solvents and fabric softeners, which can degrade the anti-odour finish and the soft impact foam.
Do not tumble dry or place near direct heat — hang the suit and foam padding to air dry fully before reassembly or storage.
Wipe the hard shell with a damp cloth and mild soapy water, then dry it off; petrol, degreaser and harsh solvents can craze the shell.
Set the kidney belt height and the straps to a snug but not restrictive fit, and re-check the adjustment after the first few rides as the suit beds in.
If you run a Leatt neck brace, fit it via the BraceOn system and confirm the brace and chest plate sit correctly together before riding, whether you are wearing the brace over or under your jersey.
Check the shell, foam, straps, buckles and central zip for cracks, tears or distortion before each ride.
Replace the protector after a heavy impact — armour that has absorbed a significant crash may not perform the same way again, even if it looks intact.
Store flat or on a hanger in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, and never leave it damp inside a gear bag.
