Leatt 8.5 ADV MultiTour Jacket - Iron Grey

The Leatt ADV MultiTour 8.5 is a four-season adventure touring jacket built around a 5-way layering system, so one jacket covers cold rain, mild mornings and hot afternoons. The permanently waterproof lower shell stays put, while a lightweight waterproof top shell zips off to expose a heavily vented mesh upper that rides like a summer jacket. A thermal inner liner adds windproof, water-repellent warmth and doubles as a casual jacket off the bike.

It is aimed at adventure and touring riders who cover long distances in changeable Australian conditions and want protection without carrying a second jacket. Construction is serious: Class AA certification to EN 17092-3:2020, Level 2 3DF armour front, back and limbs, SuperFabric reinforcement in high-impact zones and Leatt's HydraDri DRI+ laminate rated at 35,000 mm waterproof.

Practical touring detail runs right through it — hydration compatibility, a rear pocket large enough to stow the removable shell, pant connection zip and neck brace compatibility. Finished in Iron Grey.

Choose your layers before you ride: waterproof top shell on for rain and cold, off to open the mesh upper in heat, and add or remove the thermal inner liner to fine-tune warmth.
Remove all 3DF protectors and detach the top shell and thermal liner before washing — wash each layer separately.
Close all zips, including the front AquaGuard zip and pant connection zip, and secure hook-and-loop straps before washing so they do not snag or abrade the fabric.
Use a technical garment wash made for waterproof laminates; avoid household detergents with bleach, fabric softener or stain removers, as these clog the membrane and strip the DWR finish.
Do not dry clean, iron or apply direct heat to the laminated panels; hang to dry away from direct sunlight and heaters.
When water starts soaking into the outer fabric rather than beading, refresh the PFC-free DWR with a spray- or wash-in treatment suitable for laminated garments.
Wipe mud, insects and road grime off with a soft damp cloth soon after riding, paying attention to the mesh panels and SuperFabric reinforcements.
Check the taped seams, zip pulls and protector pockets periodically, and make sure each protector is seated flat in its pocket and the elbow straps are tightened so armour stays in position.
Rinse and dry the hydration bladder and tube separately after use; do not store a filled bladder in the jacket.
Hang the jacket on a broad hanger using the external coat hanger loop in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place rather than compressing it in a bag for long periods.
Replace any protector that has taken a significant impact, and retire the jacket if the shell or seams are damaged in a crash.
