The Quantum Fuel Systems QFHFPA4564 is an in-tank electric fuel pump supplied as a complete assembly, built as a direct replacement for the original unit in fuel-injected motorcycles and ATVs. It is engineered to meet or exceed the specifications of the part it replaces, with design changes aimed at longer service life rather than simply copying the original.
It suits riders and workshops chasing a straightforward fix for a failing or noisy pump — hard starting, fuel starvation under load, or a pump that has given up entirely. Upgraded polymers, brushes and commutators are used to cope with the fuel blends sold at the pump today, and the assembly is designed to drop into place using the standard mounting arrangement.

- Confirm the part number and connector/mounting arrangement against the unit you are removing before beginning the job.
- Depressurise the fuel system and disconnect the battery before removing the tank or opening the pump flange.
- Work in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources, and drain or lower the fuel level before removing the assembly.
- Photograph the original installation before removal so hose routing, wiring orientation and any level-sender arm position can be replicated exactly.
- Inspect the tank flange seal or O-ring and replace it if it is hardened, flattened or damaged; a reused seal is a common source of leaks and vapour smell.
- Tighten flange fasteners evenly in a cross pattern to the figures given in your machine's service manual, and do not overtighten plastic components.
- Do not run the pump dry, including on the bench, as it relies on fuel passing through it for cooling and lubrication.
- Avoid habitually running the tank to near-empty, which increases the chance of the pump drawing air and picking up sediment.
- After fitting, cycle the ignition on and off several times to prime the system, then check for leaks around the flange and hose connections before starting the engine and again after the first ride.
- Keep the tank clean and free of rust and debris; a contaminated tank will quickly load up the strainer and shorten pump life.
- If the machine is being stored for an extended period, store it with fresh fuel and a suitable stabiliser rather than leaving ethanol-blended petrol to sit and separate.
- Inspect the fuel strainer for blockage if you notice hard starting, fuel starvation under load or a change in pump noise.
