The Quantum Fuel Systems QFHFP382MOBT is a replacement electric fuel pump assembly for VST (vapour separator tank) and outboard EFI fuel systems, supplied as a kit with the tank seal, filter and strainer needed for the job. It is built as a drop-in replacement, so it fits the standard mounting arrangement without modification.
Quantum designs its pumps, seals and strainers to meet or exceed OEM specification, with upgraded polymers, brushes and commutators intended to extend service life across a range of fuel blends. The pump is compatible with modern ethanol-blended pump petrol and uses patented check valve technology.
Suited to owners and workshops replacing a worn, noisy or failed original pump on an EFI outboard or VST-equipped engine. Please confirm compatibility with your engine model and original part number before ordering.

- Check the pump against your engine's original part number and mounting arrangement before installation — this is a drop-in replacement for the applications it is listed for, not a universal pump.
- Disconnect the battery and relieve fuel system pressure before removing the old pump; work in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.
- Fit the supplied tank seal on reassembly rather than reusing the old seal, and make sure it is seated evenly to avoid fuel weeps.
- Install the supplied strainer and filter at the same time as the pump; a clogged strainer restricts flow and makes the pump work harder.
- Keep the pump primed — running an EFI pump dry with no fuel to lubricate and cool it shortens its life.
- Use clean, fresh fuel and keep water out of the tank; ethanol-blended petrol absorbs moisture over time, which is hard on fuel system components.
- After installation, prime the system and inspect all connections and the tank seal for leaks before running the engine under load.
- Rinse away any spilled fuel and avoid solvents on the pump body and seal; wipe with a clean, dry cloth only.
- Store spare or seasonal units in a cool, dry place, and if the vessel is laid up for a long period, follow your engine manufacturer's fuel storage and stabiliser guidance to reduce the risk of fuel varnishing in the pump.
