The Polisport Restyle Kit is a full bodywork refresh for the Suzuki DR-Z400 and DR-Z400SM from 2000 onwards, moving the bike's ageing factory shape towards a modern motocross profile. Every panel in the kit is finished in yellow, the Halo headlight included, so the bike comes together as one coordinated set rather than a patchwork of mismatched parts.

It suits owners of a well-used DR-Z carrying the usual cracks, scratches and sun fade, and riders putting together a trail or supermoto project who would rather buy one matched kit than chase individual second-hand panels. The plastics are moulded to fit in place of the originals, so this is a bolt-on job rather than a fabrication exercise.

Wash with warm water, mild soap and a soft sponge or microfibre cloth; abrasive pads will dull the gloss surface.
Keep petrol, brake cleaner, solvents and strong degreasers off the plastics, as they can stain, soften or craze polypropylene.
If using a pressure washer, keep the nozzle well back and avoid blasting directly at panel edges, grommets and the headlight surround.
Dry-fit each panel before final tightening so mounting points line up without the plastic being pulled into place under tension.
Do the fasteners up snug only, and use the original rubber washers, grommets and collars where fitted; overtightening is the most common cause of cracked mounting tabs.
Reuse your existing fasteners and mounting hardware unless replacements are supplied with the kit, and replace any that are stretched, stripped or corroded.
With the Halo headlight fitted, check that wiring is routed clear of the forks and does not pull or chafe with the bars turned lock to lock, then set the beam aim before riding at night.
Re-check all fasteners after the first ride or two, and again after any off-road use, as plastics settle in and can work loose with vibration.
Store the bike out of prolonged direct sunlight where practical to help preserve the gloss and colour.
Inspect panels for stress marks or hairline cracks after a crash or heavy fall and replace damaged pieces rather than riding on them.
