- Clean plastics with mild soap and warm water using a soft cloth or sponge; avoid petroleum-based solvents, petrol, or acetone as these can discolour or degrade plastic.
- Inspect all panels and fork guards for cracks or stress marks after impacts before riding again.
- When installing, torque all mounting hardware to the factory-specified values for the YZ125/250 to prevent cracking around mounting tabs.
- Apply graphics kits to a clean, grease-free surface; light sanding with fine-grit paper can improve adhesion if required.
- Store plastics away from prolonged direct sunlight or heat sources when removed from the bike, as extended UV exposure can cause fading and brittleness over time.
- Do not use a high-pressure washer directly on mounting tabs or at close range on panel surfaces, as sustained high pressure can cause stress fracturing.
- If panels become scratched, fine plastic polish or a heat gun (used carefully by an experienced person) can reduce surface scuffs without affecting structural integrity.
