The Polisport Armadillo is a universal expansion chamber guard built to shield the vulnerable pipe on two-stroke dirt bikes. It uses a dual-compound construction — stainless steel backed by an elastomer layer — so it absorbs impacts and resists abrasion from rocks, ruts and trailside knocks, while the elastomer damps vibration noise and copes with the heat coming off the pipe.

It suits motocross, enduro and trail riders who want ongoing pipe protection without the hassle of a permanent fit-up. The guard is flexible enough to follow the contour of the pipe and varies in width along its length for a closer fit, and it clamps on with three brackets, so the exhaust never has to come off the bike to fit it. Three bolts is all it takes to pull the guard off for a proper wash after a muddy ride.

Let the exhaust cool completely before fitting or removing the guard — the pipe and the guard both hold heat after a ride.
Fit the guard using the three supplied brackets and stainless clamps; the exhaust does not need to be taken off the bike.
Position the guard so the flexible body follows the contour of your pipe, then tighten the three bolts evenly so the clamps sit square and the guard cannot rotate.
Remove the guard by loosening the three bolts before washing, so mud and grit trapped between the guard and the pipe can be cleaned out.
Wash the guard and the pipe underneath it with water and a mild detergent, then dry both before refitting.
Re-check the three bolts and clamps after the first ride and periodically thereafter, as vibration can loosen fasteners over time.
Inspect the elastomer and the stainless clamps for damage after any heavy impact or crash, and replace the guard if it is deformed or the clamps are compromised.
Avoid pressure-washing directly into the gap between the guard and the pipe, and don't refit the guard over a wet or dirty pipe.
