The Polisport Armadillo is a universal expansion chamber guard for two-stroke dirt bikes, built from a dual compound of stainless steel and elastomer. The steel outer takes the hits and abrasion of trail debris and tip-overs, while the elastomer layer damps vibration and noise and copes with the heat coming off the pipe.
It suits enduro, trail and motocross riders who keep denting expensive expansion chambers. The guard is flexible and varies in width along its length, so it conforms to the shape of your pipe rather than forcing a single fixed profile, and it mounts with three brackets and three bolts without removing the exhaust.
Supplied in black with all mounting hardware included, so it can come off for a wash after a muddy ride and go straight back on.

- Let the exhaust cool completely before fitting or removing the guard — the pipe and the guard both get hot in use.
- The exhaust does not need to come off the bike: position the guard along the pipe, wrap the three brackets and stainless clamps around it, then tighten the three bolts.
- Flex the guard to follow the contour of your pipe as you fit it, and use the variable-width sections to sit the guard close against the chamber.
- Do not overtighten the clamps — snug them evenly so the guard is held firmly without crushing or distorting the expansion chamber.
- After the first ride, and periodically after that, recheck the three bolts for tension as vibration can loosen fasteners over time.
- Slacken the three bolts and lift the guard off for cleaning after muddy or dusty rides so trapped grit is not held against the pipe.
- Wash with warm water and a mild detergent, then dry before refitting; avoid harsh solvents and aggressive degreasers on the elastomer.
- Inspect the elastomer and clamps for damage after any heavy impact or crash and replace worn hardware before riding again.
