The Pirelli Diablo Superbike is the slick racing tyre used in the World Superbike Championship, and this is the front fitment in 120/70 R 17 with the SC1 compound. Its compounds, carcass materials and contour come straight out of Pirelli's WSBK programme, where the tyre has to deliver peak grip on the opening laps and then hold that performance for a full race distance.

It suits professional and club-level racers, track-day riders chasing lap times, and anyone running a supersport or superbike on circuit. The SC1 sits in the softer half of Pirelli's SC range, so it warms up quickly and gives strong front-end feel and support at high lean angles.

Important: this is an NHS (Not for Highway Service) tyre. It carries no road homologation and is for racetrack use only — it must not be fitted for use on public roads.

Track use only — this NHS tyre has no road homologation and must not be fitted to a motorcycle ridden on public roads.
Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using correct rim width and a tubeless-compatible rim; observe the rotation direction marked on the sidewall.
Set cold pressures to the figures recommended by Pirelli or your tyre technician for your bike, circuit and conditions — slick pressures differ substantially from road tyre pressures.
Use tyre warmers where possible and follow the warmer temperatures and pre-heat times recommended for the SC range; a slick that goes out cold offers little grip and can be permanently damaged.
Scrub in a new tyre with a few progressive laps before pushing for lean angle and full braking loads.
Come in gradually at the end of a session rather than parking a hot tyre straight onto cold ground, and let the tyre cool evenly.
Inspect before every session for cuts, tearing, blistering, graining, exposed carcass or uneven wear, and retire the tyre once the surface breaks up or performance drops off.
Store upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors and generators, fuels, oils and solvents.
Do not use tyre dressings, silicone sprays or solvents on the tread face; clean the sidewalls only with mild soapy water.
Do not repair a racing slick — replace any tyre that has been punctured, run flat or exposed to a heat cycle beyond its useful life.
