The Philips H7 12972 ST is a standard-fitment 12V 55W halogen headlight bulb with the PX26D base, supplied as a single bulb (C1 pack). It suits motorcycles and scooters that use an H7 globe for low beam, high beam or a dedicated headlight position, depending on the model.

It's the straightforward choice for a like-for-like replacement when a globe has blown or is fading, or for carrying a spare in your tail pack for longer rides. Always check your owner's manual or the existing globe to confirm your bike takes H7 before ordering.

  • Do not touch the glass with bare fingers — skin oils create hot spots that shorten bulb life. Handle the bulb by its metal base or use a clean cloth or glove.
  • If you do touch the glass, clean it with isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free cloth and let it dry fully before fitting.
  • Turn the ignition off and let the old bulb cool before removal; halogen globes run very hot.
  • Make sure the bulb is seated and locked correctly in the PX26D holder, and that the rubber dust cover or boot is refitted and sealed to keep water out of the headlight housing.
  • Check your headlight aim after replacement so you aren't dazzling oncoming traffic.
  • Never run the bulb outside the headlight housing or with a damaged lens — the housing provides the required UV shielding and heat management.
  • If your bike uses H7 globes for both headlights, consider replacing both at the same time so output stays even.
  • Store spare bulbs in their original packaging in a dry place, away from vibration and impact.
  • If the new bulb fails early or flickers, check the connector, earth and charging system voltage rather than simply fitting another globe.
