- Clean the chain when it is cool and the motorcycle is on a centre stand or paddock stand for safe access.
- Apply chain cleaner as directed on the product packaging and allow the recommended dwell time before scrubbing.
- Use a dedicated chain brush or the included brush (if supplied) to work the cleaner into the chain links and sprockets.
- Rinse away loosened dirt and cleaner residue thoroughly and allow the chain to dry completely before re-lubricating.
- Always re-lubricate the chain after cleaning — a clean, dry chain left without lubricant will accelerate wear.
- Check chain tension and sprocket condition as part of each cleaning session.
- Dispose of cleaning fluids and contaminated materials in accordance with your local council's hazardous waste guidelines.
