  • Remove the foam filter from the airbox before cleaning — never wash it while fitted to the bike.
  • Place the filter in the bucket and apply the included cleaner generously, working it through the foam to loosen dirt, oil and debris.
  • Rinse the filter thoroughly with clean water until the water runs clear; squeeze gently — do not wring or twist the foam, as this can tear the filter media.
  • Allow the filter to dry completely in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat or sunlight before re-oiling; fitting a wet filter can draw moisture into the engine.
  • Apply filter oil evenly across the entire surface of the foam, working it in by hand so no dry spots remain; excess oil should be lightly squeezed out.
  • Refit the oiled filter to the airbox only once it is fully dried and evenly coated — an uneven or dry filter will not seal properly against dust ingestion.
  • Inspect the filter for tears, holes or deterioration each time you clean it; replace the filter element if the foam shows signs of breakdown.
  • Store unused cleaner and oil with lids tightly sealed, away from ignition sources and out of reach of children.
