Remove the foam filter from the airbox before cleaning — never wash it while fitted to the bike.
Place the filter in the bucket and apply the included cleaner generously, working it through the foam to loosen dirt, oil and debris.
Rinse the filter thoroughly with clean water until the water runs clear; squeeze gently — do not wring or twist the foam, as this can tear the filter media.
Allow the filter to dry completely in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat or sunlight before re-oiling; fitting a wet filter can draw moisture into the engine.
Apply filter oil evenly across the entire surface of the foam, working it in by hand so no dry spots remain; excess oil should be lightly squeezed out.
Refit the oiled filter to the airbox only once it is fully dried and evenly coated — an uneven or dry filter will not seal properly against dust ingestion.
Inspect the filter for tears, holes or deterioration each time you clean it; replace the filter element if the foam shows signs of breakdown.
Store unused cleaner and oil with lids tightly sealed, away from ignition sources and out of reach of children.
