Patrol 016 Anodized SNOW White

The Patrol 016 is a 16-inch alloy kids' bike built for young riders who are past training wheels and ready to actually ride — footpaths, pump tracks, park laps and family rides. Its double-butted alloy frame keeps overall weight low, which matters twice over: light bikes are far easier for small legs to accelerate, corner and pick up after a tumble, and much easier for a parent to carry back to the car.

The build is deliberately simple. A single-speed drivetrain means there's nothing to shift and nothing to fiddle with, so kids can concentrate on balance and braking. Disc brakes front and rear give predictable stopping power in small hands, and genuine MTB tyres provide real grip on dirt, gravel and grass rather than just smooth concrete.

For the current version, Patrol has revised the frame tubing and adjusted the geometry to make the bike more stable and more enjoyable to ride. The Anodised Snow White finish is applied to the alloy rather than painted on.

Have the bike fully assembled and safety-checked by a qualified bicycle mechanic, and confirm both brakes work firmly, before the first ride.
Re-check stem, handlebar, seat post, crank and pedal bolts after the first few rides while everything beds in, then periodically after that.
Check tyre pressure before riding and stay within the range moulded on the VEE Crown Gem sidewall — under-inflated tyres feel vague and increase the chance of pinch flats.
Keep the disc rotors and pads free of oil, chain lube and degreaser; clean rotors with a clean rag and isopropyl alcohol only, and never squeeze the levers with a wheel removed.
As the Clarks CMD-21 pads wear, take up the slack with the cable barrel adjuster so the levers don't pull back towards the bars — small hands need a firm, close lever.
Check single-speed chain tension regularly and re-tension at the rear axle if it develops noticeable slack or starts skipping.
Clean and re-lubricate the chain after wet, sandy or dusty rides, wiping off the excess so grit doesn't stick to it.
Wash with mild soapy water and a soft brush; avoid high-pressure hoses, which force water and grit past hub and bottom bracket bearings.
Raise the saddle and adjust bar height as your child grows, keeping the seat post above its minimum insertion mark.
Store indoors and dry. The anodised alloy frame and rims resist corrosion, but the steel chainring, chain and fasteners will rust if the bike is left damp or outside.
