The Oxford OX847 is a tinted acrylic wind deflector that clips onto the top of an existing motorcycle screen and lifts airflow up and over the rider. Measuring 260 x 125mm, it is designed to cut the buffeting and helmet noise that make longer rides tiring, without the cost of replacing the standard screen.
It suits commuters and touring riders who find their factory screen sends turbulent air straight at the helmet, and anyone wanting to fine-tune wind protection for their height or riding position. The bracketry allows both height and angle to be adjusted, and the quick release lets the deflector come off for cleaning, transport or a bare-screen look.

- Fit the bracket to the top edge of your existing screen using the supplied M3 and M4 hex keys, keeping the deflector centred and clear of the instruments and steering lock-to-lock.
- Set the height and angle at a standstill, then confirm on a short, low-speed ride and re-adjust until airflow passes above the helmet rather than into it.
- Do not overtighten the fasteners against acrylic — nip them up firmly by hand only, as excess clamping force can stress or crack the screen.
- Re-check the bracket and fasteners for tightness after the first couple of rides, then periodically, as vibration can loosen the clamp over time.
- Clean with lukewarm water, a drop of mild detergent and a soft microfibre cloth, working in straight strokes; rinse first to lift grit so it isn't dragged across the surface.
- Avoid solvents, petrol, ammonia-based glass cleaners, alcohol wipes and abrasive pads — these craze and cloud acrylic permanently.
- Remove insects and road film promptly by soaking with a damp cloth rather than scrubbing dry.
- Use the quick release to take the deflector off for transport, trailering or pressure washing, and store it flat or upright in a padded cover away from direct sunlight and heat.
- Inspect regularly for chips, crazing or star cracks around the mounting points and replace the screen if any are found.
- Check that a tinted screen and its mounting position comply with your state's road rules and does not obstruct your view of the road.
