Wipe the waxed cotton outer clean with a damp cloth and allow it to dry naturally; the finish is designed to be wiped rather than washed.
Do not machine wash, tumble dry or dry clean, and avoid solvents, detergents and strong degreasers, which strip the wax finish.
If the bag gets soaked, empty it and let it air dry at room temperature, away from direct heat sources such as heaters, exhausts or hot air.
If the waxed finish dulls or the surface stops beading water over time, re-proof it with a wax dressing intended for waxed cotton canvas, applied sparingly and evenly.
The top closure is water-resistant rather than waterproof, so keep phones, documents and electronics in a sealed dry bag during sustained rain.
Roll and secure the top closure fully before riding so the opening stays sealed and the load stays stable.
Adjust the shoulder straps so the bag sits high and snug against your back, and pack heavier items closest to your spine to reduce strain at speed.
Avoid overloading past the 30-litre capacity or carrying hard, sharp-edged items that can press into the fabric or into your back in a fall.
Store the backpack dry, loosely packed and out of direct sunlight; long-term storage while damp or compressed can mark the wax finish.
