The Oxford Monster Chain is a heavy-duty 1.2 metre security chain built around a 14mm hexagonal link made from Ni-Cro-Mo steel reinforced with titanium alloy. It carries Sold Secure Motorcycle Gold approval following independent testing, making it a serious deterrent for home, garage and street parking.
This is the long-end link version, so the final link is sized to pass through Oxford ground anchors and U-locks, letting you anchor your bike to a fixed point rather than simply locking wheel to frame. A protective sleeve covers the chain to keep it from marking paintwork and bodywork, and the 1.2m length is short enough to stow under the seat or in a top box for use away from home.
Supplied as a chain only — pair it with an Oxford Monster or Boss padlock of the same standard for a complete, insurance-approved locking solution.

- Loop the chain through the frame or a wheel and secure it to a ground anchor or other fixed point wherever possible — locking the bike to itself only is far easier to defeat.
- Keep the chain and padlock clear of the ground; a chain resting on concrete gives thieves a solid surface to strike against.
- Run the long-end link through the ground anchor or U-lock shackle so the padlock closes on the correct link.
- Keep the protective sleeve in place over the chain to avoid scratching paintwork, tanks and rims.
- Wipe the chain dry after riding in wet or salty conditions and store it out of standing water to limit surface corrosion.
- Pull the chain up snug before locking so there is little slack for tools to be levered into.
- When carrying the chain on the bike, stow it under the seat or in luggage and make sure it cannot foul the rear wheel, chain or suspension.
- Use a padlock of the same Sold Secure standard — pairing the chain with a lower-rated lock reduces the overall security and may affect insurance cover.
- Inspect the links, sleeve and padlock periodically for damage or attack marks, and replace the chain if any link is deformed or cut.
