Oxford Heavy Duty Chain Lock 2.0m

$99.99 $88.95

The Oxford Heavy Duty (HD) Chain Lock is a well-proven mid-range security option for motorcycles and scooters. At 2.0 metres it is long enough to loop through a wheel and a fixed anchor point, a lamp post or a second machine, yet it stays manageable enough to carry with you rather than leave at home.

The 9.5mm hardened square link chain pairs with a double-locking padlock whose hardened steel shackle can also be used on its own as a disc lock. It suits commuters and everyday riders who want a genuine visual and physical deterrent for street and overnight parking without stepping up to the weight of a top-tier ground anchor chain.

Also available in 1.0m (OF157) and 1.5m (OF159).

  • Record the key number stamped on your keys as soon as you unpack the lock and store it somewhere safe and separate from the lock — Oxford's key replacement service needs it if you lose every key.
  • When securing the bike, pass the chain through the rear wheel or frame and around a solid, immovable anchor point; keep the chain and padlock up off the ground so they can't be attacked against a hard surface.
  • Keep the dust cover closed over the keyway whenever the lock is fitted or stored to keep water, road grime and grit out of the barrel.
  • Use the padlock on its own as a disc lock through a brake disc when you only need a quick, short stop — always remove it before riding off.
  • Rinse road salt and mud off the chain and padlock with clean water after wet or coastal riding, then dry the chain thoroughly before storing it.
  • Wipe the chain links over with a lightly oiled cloth from time to time to slow surface rust, and keep excess oil off brake discs, tyres and paintwork.
  • Work the key gently rather than forcing it; if the mechanism feels stiff, clean and lubricate the barrel with a lock-appropriate lubricant instead of a heavy grease that will attract dirt.
  • Carry the chain in a bag or a chain sleeve rather than loose in a pannier or over the tank so it can't chafe bodywork or paint.
  • Store the lock dry and indoors when it isn't in use, and replace it if the links, shackle or lock body show cracking, distortion or clear tampering damage.
