Oxford Terraforce Ground Anchor

The Oxford TerraForce is a concrete-in ground anchor designed to give your bike a fixed, immovable point to lock to at home. It is set permanently into concrete, so there are no bolts or fixings for a thief to attack, and the case hardened steel head is built to resist saws, sledgehammers and angle grinders.

It suits riders securing a motorcycle or scooter in a garage, carport or driveway, and anyone whose insurer or building manager wants a recognised anchor point. Fitting is straightforward DIY work — the anchor is set into fresh concrete, and ready-mixed just-add-water concrete from a hardware store is enough for the job.

Independently tested and awarded Sold Secure Motorcycle Diamond, the highest Sold Secure motorcycle rating. Pair it with a chain up to 14mm link diameter or a cable lock.

InstallationConcrete-in (ready-mixed concrete suitable)
  • Install into solid ground only — excavate a hole in concrete or firm sub-base, set the anchor in fresh concrete and check it sits level and square before the mix sets.
  • Allow the concrete to cure fully, following the concrete manufacturer's stated curing time, before loading the anchor with a chain or lock.
  • Position the anchor so the 54mm opening stays clear of the ground and rendered concrete, otherwise threading a chain through becomes difficult once set.
  • Use a chain with a link diameter of 14mm or less, and keep the chain short and off the ground so it can't be levered or struck against a hard surface.
  • When locking up, pass the chain through the anchor head and around a solid part of the frame rather than a wheel or removable component.
  • After rain or washdown, clear grit, mud and debris from inside the anchor head so it doesn't build up and foul the chain.
  • Surface rust or marking on the head is cosmetic; do not grind, drill or re-machine the anchor, as this compromises the case hardened surface.
  • Periodically check the surrounding concrete for cracking, movement or lifting, and re-set the anchor if the base has been damaged.
  • Keep the padlock or chain lock body off the ground and lubricate the lock mechanism, not the anchor, to prevent seizing in wet conditions.
