Description

The Oxford Quartz XA10 is a compact alarmed disc lock built to deter opportunistic theft of motorcycles and scooters. Its alloy twin-spar chassis resists attack, while the 10mm locking pin fits through the brake disc to stop the wheel turning.

Movement on the bike triggers a 110dB siren — loud enough to draw attention across a car park or street — and the internal lithium polymer battery recharges over USB, so there are no coin cells to chase down. The high-visibility yellow finish makes the lock easy to spot before you set off, and the supplied minder cable adds a second reminder.

A sensible everyday choice for commuters, scooter riders and anyone parking in public where a visible, audible deterrent counts.

Operations & maintenance

Charge the lock fully via the supplied USB cable before first use, and top it up periodically so the alarm stays active.
Fit the pin through a brake disc hole with the lock body clear of the caliper, fork leg and wheel rim before releasing it.
Always attach the minder cable between the lock and your handlebars so you cannot ride off with the lock still fitted.
Disarm the alarm before moving the bike or the siren will trigger; move the bike gently once unlocked.
Let hot brake discs cool before fitting, and avoid clamping the lock onto a disc straight after hard riding.
Wipe road grime and salt off the lock and pin with a damp cloth, dry it thoroughly and keep the keyway clear of grit.
Use a light lock lubricant in the barrel if the key becomes stiff; avoid harsh solvents on the alloy body and electronics.
Store the lock dry and indoors when not in use, and recharge it before long periods of storage.
Keep spare keys somewhere separate from the bike, and check the pin and chassis for damage after any attack or drop.
