The Oxford Beast Floor Lock is a bolt-down ground anchor that combines the anchor and the lock in a single hardened steel unit, so there is no separate padlock or shackle for a thief to work on. It bolts to a concrete garage, carport or shed floor and secures your bike whenever it is parked at home.

It carries a Sold Secure Motorcycle Diamond rating, the highest tier in that scheme, having been put through attack testing with tools thieves actually use — pliers, bolt croppers and drills, plus a sustained 90-second angle grinder attack. Use it on its own through a wheel or frame, or pair it with a heavy chain for a longer reach.

Each Beast is supplied with three keys on a numbered metal tag. Note that number down and keep it somewhere safe, and Oxford's key replacement service can cut new keys if you ever lose the lot.

Fit only to sound, solid concrete using the four supplied high-security expansion bolts — timber, pavers, tiles or thin or cracked slabs will not deliver the anchor's rated resistance.
Drill and mount to the instructions supplied in the box, and check the area underneath is clear of services such as water pipes, conduit or underfloor heating before drilling.
Once bolted down, drop an anti-tamper ball bearing into each bolt recess and cap it with a solid steel plug so the fixings can no longer be undone with a tool.
Write down the number stamped on the metal key tag and store it away from the lock and the bike — it is what allows replacement keys to be cut if all three are lost.
Always check the locking pin has fully engaged before leaving the bike; a partly seated pin is not secure.
When using a chain, run it through the anchor and around the frame or a wheel and keep it up off the ground where it can't be bashed against concrete.
Rinse away grit, dust and any salt with fresh water and dry the lock, especially if it lives in an open carport or is used near the coast.
Keep the keyway clear and lubricate the mechanism occasionally with a light lock lubricant; avoid thick oils and greases, which hold grit inside the barrel.
Periodically check the anchor for any movement or rocking against the floor and inspect the plugged bolt holes for signs of tampering.
Don't use harsh solvents or degreasers on the body, and don't leave a spare key on the bike or hidden nearby in the garage.
