Description

The Oxford HotGrips Pro 2.0 Touring is the latest generation of Oxford's integrated heated grip system, designed for riders who keep clocking up kilometres once the temperature drops. Two extra heat settings have been added over the previous generation, giving five levels in total so you can dial in useful warmth through thick winter gloves or take the edge off a cool morning commute.

Everything is built into the grips themselves. A button on the clutch-side grip cycles through the settings, and a multi-coloured LED confirms your choice before dimming so it doesn't pull your attention from the road. Each grip runs its own temperature control unit with built-in thermistors, so both sides independently hold the temperature you selected as conditions change around you.

The silicone-formed construction is the other standout: Oxford rates it for a substantially longer service life than conventional grip materials, while the hex and knurled tread patterns keep feel and control intact. Suits 7/8" (22mm) handlebars.

Key Features

  • Five heat settings with colour-coded LED: red 55°C, purple 50°C, green 45°C, white 40°C, blue 35°C
  • Integrated controller built into the clutch-side grip — change settings without letting go of the bar
  • Multi-coloured LED confirms the selected setting, then dims to reduce rider distraction
  • Independent temperature control unit in each grip with built-in thermistors
  • Thermistors adjust heat output as ambient temperature changes to hold the selected setting
  • Heat setting memory recalls your last-used level at power-up
  • Battery saving modes switch the grips off if you forget, including a dedicated lithium battery mode
  • IP65-rated integrated controller and fully waterproof connectors
  • Silicone-formed grips for up to 200% longer grip lifespan without losing comfort or performance
  • Hex tread pattern for vibration absorption and durability
  • Knurled tread pattern maximises surface area for grip and control
  • 125mm grip length, trimmable to 120mm or 115mm
  • Open ends accept bar end weights
  • Integrated cable strain relief with a compact cable exit
  • Fits 7/8" (22mm) diameter handlebars

Operations & maintenance

Confirm your handlebars are 7/8" (22mm) diameter before fitting — these grips are not intended for 1" (25.4mm) bars.
If your bars are shorter than 125mm at the grip area, trim the grips to 120mm or 115mm rather than forcing an oversized fit; measure and cut carefully, as trimming cannot be undone.
Leave the open grip ends clear if you intend to run bar end weights, and refit the weights securely once the grips are in place.
Select the battery saving mode that matches your bike's battery type — use the lithium setting if the motorcycle runs a lithium battery.
Press the button on the clutch-side grip to cycle heat settings; the LED shows your selection then dims, and the grips will return to your last-used setting at the next power-up.
Route and secure the grip cables clear of steering movement, hot engine components and moving controls, and check on full lock in both directions that there is no strain or snagging.
Don't cut, pierce or over-tighten cable ties around the grip wiring — the integrated strain relief at the cable exit is doing a job, so support the cable rather than pulling on it.
Clean the silicone grips with mild soapy water and a soft cloth; avoid solvents, degreasers and abrasive cleaners, which can degrade the surface and leave the grips slippery.
The controller and connectors are IP65 rated for rain and road spray, but avoid aiming a high-pressure washer directly at the grips or connectors.
Periodically inspect the grips for wear, cuts or movement on the bar, and check connectors are clean, dry and fully mated — replace grips that have become loose or damaged.
Turn the heat off when you stop, and if the bike is being left standing for long periods consider disconnecting the battery to avoid slow drain.
